Team energy, AI reality checks and a challenge for your weekend
The Friday Takeaway is served 🥡. On the menu today: team energy, AI reality checks, and a challenge for your weekend.
- Still smiling
It's been a crazy busy week. New project opportunities, award entries, a big pitch, and kicking off work from a pitch win last week. The world wants to get cracking in 2026 and I love it.
Still smiling (see pic). Still loving it. It's why we turn up, after all.
- AI tools are only as good as their data/connections
I've been testing a lot of AI tools this week. Here's the honest version:
→ Martin (personal AI) - keeps missing context. Feels like talking to someone who's half listening.
→ Nuet.ai (calendar management) - made mistakes. Close, but not reliable enough yet.
→ LittleBird - only as good as what it can see, which means it misses a lot.
→ Claude CoWork - the one I keep coming back to. Genuinely helping me to create some amazing tools.
The pattern is the same across all of them. If they're not connected to enough of your world, or the right parts of it, they're painful.
And it goes to show just how far AI still is from being as good as, or as useful as, our brains.
Exciting? Yes. Ready to replace your thinking? Not even close.
- A challenge from the 7DOTS team
We had our quarterly Dot2Dot all-company session this week and the team set a challenge which I thought was worth sharing.
Detox from digital for your own well-being by doing one of the following:
- Take a weekend offline
- Have a phone-free meal or journey
- Pick-up a non-digital hobby
I'm going to give one a proper go this weekend.
Anyone else in?
P.S. Caught this rainbow on the way home.
Sometimes you just need to look up.
