It was humbling, moving and inspiring to attend the Kingston Charitable Foundation's "What Kingston Thinks" launch event with Richard Carter and 150 other people this morning.

The report commissioned by the charity surfaces thought provoking insights into the opportunities and challenges the Borough faces - mental health being the challenge at the top of the list.

There were also fascinating guest speakers, including Maryam Irekeola, Andreas Kirsch, Yvalia Febrer and Dominic Sterling.

Dominic's three tips around mental health were a great reminder for us all:

  1. Pause for yourself - it enhances your emotional regulation and clarity.
  2. Community helps - boosting your self-esteem and confidence.
  3. Look after those around you - reach out to someone you know.

It was also wonderful to see the new "Kingston Giving" rebrand revealed, which Richard Carter and the team at 7DOTS have been working on so passionately for the past few months.

Congratulations to Hicky Kingsbury, Justine Belcher, Lucie Moore and Shelley Heath for putting together such a brilliant event. Great to see my fellow Trustees Nikki Earthrowl, Katie (Catherine) Lovatt, Andy Tonner, Niamh Dunne, Charlotte Clark, Claire Holloway!
