# This weekend, my daughter Bonnie shared her dream job with me

This weekend, my daughter Bonnie shared her dream job with me: “I want to be a princess with a unicorn that flies around the sky, collecting clouds, with a rainbow and glitter in the background—and the unicorn eating blueberries!”🦄 Obvs!

I couldn’t resist bringing her vision to life using the Ai tool DALL-E Open Ai. But as I worked, something interesting happened.

Bonnie has a birthmark around her eye, and I wanted the princess in her story to have one too.

Despite multiple attempts, DALL-E kept interpreting it as an eye patch instead.

As someone who used coding to overcome the challenges of dyslexia, I know firsthand how technology can level the playing field. It allows us to express creativity and overcome barriers, but this moment with Bonnie was a reminder: Ai is only as inclusive as the data it’s trained on. If we don’t ensure that technology reflects the full diversity of human experience, we risk leaving people out or misrepresenting them.

Building accessible, representative AI is crucial - not just for what it can do today, but for the dreams it can help bring to life tomorrow. Let’s be thoughtful in how we build these tools, so we create technology that empowers everyone -no exceptions.
