It’s really just knowing how to be where your feet are.

Phew. It's the end of the first week back, and it's been a whirlwind of new goals, deadlines, and to-do lists. I know I've felt the pressure to 'jump right in' and get it all done at once. That I should have achieved more already.

Then I came across this passage in a book I'm reading:

“It’s really just knowing how to be where your feet are. It’s learning how to take care of yourself, how to make a calm within your own skin....

...That it’s okay for things to be just as they are. Little by little, you will begin to see that life can only grow outward in proportion to how stable it is inward - that if the joy is not in the little things first, the big things won't fully find us.”

It was a great reminder that sometimes we need to pause and just be in the moment - starting where we are, looking after our well-being. Not trying to be somewhere else.

From that place of calm, we can find clarity, and build a stronger foundation to move forward with intention and positivity.

Hopefully that is as helpful to you, as it was to me.

How has your first week back been? What's helped you stay grounded?
I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
