# Figma's stock dropped 7% on Thursday.

The reason: Anthropic launched Claude Design.

I've been experimenting with it over the weekend, and for anyone running a team that moves through visual work i.e. pitches, prototypes, marketing materials, it's worth understanding.

You describe what you need. Claude builds a first version.

You refine through conversation, comments, or direct edits until it's right.

It reads your team's design system, including colours, typography, components, so everything stays on brand automatically.

When you're done, export to Canva, PDF, PowerPoint, or hand it to Claude Code to build it.

My early take: it's good, but it still needs careful guidance and prompting to get to a good output.

And even then, it's not as good as a skilled designer, and I'm hitting issues with alignments and fonts mis-rendering.

It's not a "describe it and walk away" tool yet.

But the direction is exciting. And if Anthropic's track record is anything to go by, this will develop quickly.

The gap between "I have an idea" and "here's what it looks like" is starting to shrink.

That changes how quickly teams can test, pitch, and move.

What's your take - have you tried it yet?
