From his recent Dwarkesh Podcast interview:

"I probably spend a third, maybe 40 percent, of my time making sure the culture of Anthropic is good."

The person building one of the most consequential technologies of our era has said that the biggest lever he has is how his people show up for each other and for the work.

Based on what I see in the room with clients most weeks, he's right.

Rolling out AI, or any cutting-edge tech, is a people problem as much as a data or tooling problem. Leadership, culture, process, and the organisational appetite to change how work gets done.

Beneath all of it sits the harder question most boards haven't yet answered honestly:

Who is this technology actually for and what value does it bring?

If you're a CEO, CMO, CTO or CDO mapping your 2026 AI plan, it's worth asking what share of your own calendar is on the people side of it.
